The Grapes of Wrath, based on the novel by John Steinbeck, adapted by Frank Galati
The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey presents the Tony Award-winning adaptation of the Great American Novel. Set during the Great Depression, The Grapes of Wrath focuses on a family of poor sharecroppers, driven from their home by drought, economic hardship, and a sea change in the agriculture industry. In desperation, they set out for California alongside thousands of others in search of land, jobs, and dignity. A majestic and deeply affecting portrait of American life and the American soul at a defining moment in our nation's history.
