Forum for Visual Artists with Disabilities
This event will offer cultural employers and visual artists of all abilities the opportunity to network and participate in a series of sessions designed to provide them with tools and resources to heighten the awareness of each others needs.
Featuring Margaret Bodell as keynote speaker
Event Highlights:
- Strengthening the Relationship between Employers and Visual Artists with Disabilities … a panel discussion
- Networking opportunities—one on one discussions with experts in technology, portfolio review, curating.
- Performance Showcase — highlights from artists with disabilities
- Luncheon reception—network with your peers and meet the artists; light fare and drink will be provided
Margaret Bodell
For over 25 years Margaret Bodell has been a pioneer in the movement of inclusion in the artworld and championed creative vocations for persons with disabilities. She has launched and developed community based galleries and projects such as NYC’s Pure Vision Arts and Brooklyn’s LAND gallery in an effort to create opportunities and career development for those who wish to persue professional careers as artists and artisans.
Art works by visual artists with disabilities will be exhibited.
Presented by the Cultural Access Network, A co-sponsored project of the New Jersey Theatre Alliance and the New Jersey State Council on the Arts and Very Special Arts New Jersey.
This event is perfect for ADA Coordinators, teaching artists, education directors, program directors, casting directors, artistic personnel, those who work with seniors, visual artists with disabilities, and those who wish to have their knowledge and experience heightened as it relates to artists with disabilities. This event is an ideal step towards reaching your ADA plan goals in the area of employment and education.

Forum for Performing Artists with Disabilities
Featuring Daryl "Chill" Mitchell as keynote speaker

Mitchell is a 2010 NAACP Image Award Winner and star of The Outside Man, 10 Things I Hate About You, and Galaxy Quest. He was also a series regular on The John Laroquette Show and Ed. He is currently co-starring on Fox's Brothers.

- Networking opportunities—one on one discussions with experts in technology, casting, auditioning, finance and social security
- Performance Showcase — highlights from artists with disabilities
- Reception—network with your peers and meet the artists light fare and drink will be provided
Panelists are Sharon Jensen, Executive Director, Alliance for Inclusion in the Arts, Liz Green, Artistic Associate, Two River Theater Co., Heidi Latsky, Founder and Artistic Director, Heidi Latsky Dance Co., Mimi Smith, Artistic Director, Amaryllis Theatre Co., and Randall Wreghitt, Broadway Producer.
This will be followed by a Performance Showcase featuring The Heidi Latsky Dance Co., cabaret performers—Dan and Dave Simpson, theatre works by Greg Mozgala and Christopher Imbrosciano. The Showcase will be followed by a meet the artists reception.

Forums for Artists with Disabilities
A series of forums for artists with disabilities with information and networking opportunities for artists with disabilities and individuals with disabilities that are interested in management and technical employment opportunities in the arts. The forums also welcome arts employers to discuss the process of hiring artists and managers with disabilities.
There is a fee of $25 per person to cover food and materials. Scholarships for artists with disabilities available - contact Robert Carr for more information: 973 731-6582 x 15.
